Antarktisen jäätikkö kasvaa, ei sula !

news.com.au

"ICE is expanding in much of Antarctica, contrary to the widespread public belief that global warming is melting the continental ice cap.

The results of ice-core drilling and sea ice monitoring indicate there is no large-scale melting of ice over most of Antarctica, although experts are concerned at ice losses on the continent's western coast.

Antarctica has 90 per cent of the Earth's ice and 80 per cent of its fresh water, The Australian reports. Extensive melting of Antarctic ice sheets would be required to raise sea levels substantially, and ice is melting in parts of west Antarctica. The destabilisation of the Wilkins ice shelf generated international headlines this month"

Taas tutkimusskandaali ilmastotutkimuksessa

theregister

A scientific scandal is casting a shadow over a number of recent peer-reviewed climate papers.

"At least eight papers purporting to reconstruct the historical temperature record times may need to be revisited, with significant implications for contemporary climate studies, the basis of the IPCC's assessments. A number of these involve senior climatologists at the British climate research centre CRU at the University East Anglia. In every case, peer review failed to pick up the errors.

At issue is the use of tree rings as a temperature proxy, or dendrochronology. Using statistical techniques, researchers take the ring data to create a "reconstruction" of historical temperature anomalies. But trees are a highly controversial indicator of temperature, since the rings principally record Co2, and also record humidity, rainfall, nutrient intake and other local factors.

Picking a temperature signal out of all this noise is problematic, and a dendrochronology can differ significantly from instrumented data. In dendro jargon, this disparity is called "divergence". The process of creating a raw data set also involves a selective use of samples - a choice open to a scientist's biases"

Onko "ilmastonmuutos" joukkosuggestio ?

Norjalainen nobelisti Ivar Giaver ilmastonmuutoksesta:

"Uususkonto"

Media on ottanut
europarlamentaarikko Ari Vatanen. Siksipä olikin järkyttävää kuulla kokoomuksen Ben Zyskowicz´in moittivan Vatasta ilmastokannastaan ja väittävän tämän tehneen vahinkoa puolueelle. Missä on "kykypuolueen" mainostama mielipiteen vapaus ?

Kaikille tätä ajan suurta kysymystä pohtiville haluaisin antaa uuden mantran, joka tulee Vaclav Havel´ilta:

"Seuraa niitä, jotka etsivät totuutta. Vältä niitä, jotka väittävät sen löytäneensä"

Pakana ilmastouskovien pidoissa

Media on sinänsä ilahduttavasti alkanut huomioida myös meitä ilmastokriitikoita. Todella pätevä asiantuntija, tri Boris Winterhalter oli lauantaina 26.9. YLE:n aamu-tv:n ilmastokeskustelussa:

YLE-areena (ilmastokeskustelu alkaa 26:25 min kohdalla).

Ikävä kyllä "vastustaja" eli WWF:n edustaja ei "julistukseltaan" juuri sananvuoroa asiantuntijalle anna. Miksi WWF ylipäätään puuttuu ilmastokysymykseen ja himmentää mainettaan eläinten suojelijana ? Ainakin minun haluni laittaa rahaa WWF:n keräyksiin tulevaisuudessa heikkeni.

viisaita ladella !

No, hyvä näinkin, täydellinen boikotti siis pitää enää painetun median puolella, Helsingin Sanomissa ja Tekniikan Maailmassa, joiden kummankin entinen tiedekirjoittaja olen. Lauantaina 26.9. osallistuin sitten myös kutsuttuna
WWVIEWS.org "kansalaiskuulemiseen" Senaatintorin Valkoisessa salissa Helsingissä. Jostain syystä tällainen ilmastopakana oli erehdytty
kutsumaan "uskovien" pitoihin.

Kaikki uudet faktat ilmastonmuutosta vastaan

troymedia

"Nature, however, is not co-operating. Average global temperature is rising at 1.40C per century, not the 3.90C indicated by the IPPC models. We are in the seventh year of global cooling. Sea levels, despite messages to the contrary, are rising at normal rates – eight inches per century – much less than the IPPC models suggested. There has been no significant rise in sea levels over the last four years. Arctic sea ice, currently in its summer state, is more extensive in 2009 than it was in 2007 and 2008. Antarctic sea ice is at record high. Global sea ice shows relative stability over the last thirty years. While CO2 levels are rising, the rate of growth has slowed considerably – the IPPC suggested that CO2 levels would grow at around 468 parts per million (ppm) per century, when in fact the observed growth in CO2 is 204 ppm per century – less than half of the IPPC model suggestion.

Hurricane activity, which does not appear to be connected to CO2 emissions, is at the lowest level since satellite monitoring and observation began in 1979. In the Northern Hemisphere, hurricane activity is currently one of the quietest in a decade. Reefs off the Keppel Islands on Australia's Great Barrier Reef have shown rapid recovery of coral dominance, despite repeated coral bleaching events that many ascribe to CO2-induced global warming. All in all, nature does not seem to be co-operating with Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki Moon and the climate change negotiators"
